About Molly Weaver
Molly’s background is in professional road racing at the highest level.
Following early domestic success in the junior ranks, Molly went on to ride professionally in the World Tour as a member of several UCI teams. Based in Girona in Spain she competed in a full range of World Tour races from one day classics, such as the Tour of Flanders and Strade Bianchi, to stage races including the Women’s Tour, Giro Rosa and the Route de France.
Molly was also a member of Team GB in two victorious World Championship Road Races, one at junior and one at senior level, as well as achieving personal success in National championships in both road racing and time trials.
Following a serious training collision Molly took a break from riding, before returning to competitive cycling as a successful solo ultra-distance athlete. She has won and podiumed in multiple international events over both road and mixed-terrain routes, as well as setting a number of Fastest Known Times (FKTs) over some of the hardest multi-terrain routes in the UK.
2024 was an especially successful year for Molly, most notably in ultra-endurance road events, leading her to look for a new ultra-distance challenge in 2025.
The Coastline World Record stood out for Molly due to its long history, testing and varied route, and being a perfect example of an adventure that is ‘close to home’. It also provides an ideal opportunity to raise money for one of the UK’s most beloved charities – the RNLI.
After a gap of six years the On The Edge challenge has inspired Molly to return to a formal structured training programme. In recent years she has achieved success based simply on riding her bike a lot. But this challenge needs a far more considered, structured and focussed approach to training, working with a professional coach.
With the right training, team, equipment and preparation Molly is confident that she has the background to break the record, but it will certainly be very far from easy!
