GPS Tracker
Welcome to the GPS tracking page for Molly’s record ride.
Circumnavigation record attempts do not follow a fixed route – instead they follow a self-mapped route that joins up a set of fixed waypoints around the edge of the circumnavigation and cover a minimum distance.
Local conditions (road closures, traffic congestion, roadworks etc) during the attempt meant that on occasion Molly had to adapt her route slightly on the fly, but still ensure that all 118 waypoints were visited and the minimum distance of 7730Km was covered.
As Molly’s ride took place over three weeks there was plenty of time for road closures and diversions to pop up unexpectedly, especially towards the end of the route, including a significant closure around the Isle of Dogs immediately before the finish. Fortunately, she had a couple of days’ notice and so was able to alter her route slightly on the outskirts of London to make up for the ‘lost’ distance.
By clicking Molly’s orange dot and selecting Show GPS Track will show exactly where she rode.
